Webelos Parents Information Meeting

Tuesday, Oct 21 we will hold an information meeting about the Webelos Woods campout for the Webelos parents that will be joining us on the campout. The info meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall concurrent with the troop meeting in the Gym. This meeting will start right after the flag ceremony and announcements portion of the troop meeting.

Webelos Woods Campout

Friday, Oct 24 – Sunday Oct 26 at Camp Brosig. We will have over 30 guests joining our troop so we need lots of Scout and adults to attend to make sure we have plenty of help so we can deliver a first class camping experience for our potential Webelos families.

PLC / Committee Meeting

Tuesday, Oct 28 at NHLC. PLC meetings starts at 7pm and Committee meeting starts at 7:30pm.

Scoutmaster Corps Meeting (Nov)

Sunday, Nov 2nd from 1:30-2:30pm in the Fellowship Hall at NHLC.

FCE / MB Workshops (Nov)

FCE will meet from 2:30-4:30pm in the grassy area near the old trailer shed on the west side of the NHLC campus (weather permitting). Merit badges workshops will be held in the Fellowship Hall and Gym from 2:30 – 4:30pm.

Court of Honor

Tuesday, Nov 4th is our next Court of Honor. Time to get those blue cards finished up and rank requirements completed. Sign-ups for Scoutmaster conferences and Boards of Review will be available at all troop meetings leading up to the COH. The troop meeting on Tuesday (Oct 21st) will be the last opportunity to turn in blue cards and also to schedule a Scoutmaster conference and / or Board of Review.

Load-up and Prep for Garage Sale

Friday, Nov 7th starting at 6pm we will start pick-up, sorting, organizing, and loading of goods for the Garage Sale. Meet at the NHLC parking lot at 6pm to get your assignment.

Garage Sale

Saturday, Nov 8th is our annual Garage sale at Colony Creek Community Church (CCCC) on Hwy 6 right next to Center Court pizza. We will start setup at 6am and sales start at 8am. Everyone is needed to help with this important fundraiser for both the Scouts and our Troop.

November Campout

Friday, Nov 14 – Sunday Nov 16 at El Rancho Cima. Sign-up for this campout will start at the next troop meeting.

Youth leader documents are a resource for Scouts and Parents to use when a Scout is considering presenting themselves as a candidate for an elected or appointed youth leadership position. The merit badge counselor list contains the most current list of counselors for merit badges.


Camping Fees and Troop Annual Dues Reminder

Semi Annual Camping Fees for the Fall

Our semi-annual camping fees for the Fall are always due on the second Tuesday in September, Tuesday Sep 9th. Fall camping fees are $60 based on $15 per campout x 4 campouts (Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec) with no charge for the lock-in campout in August.


Annual Troop Dues 
Our annual Troop Dues need to be paid by the second Tuesday in November. That will be Tuesday, November 11th. Annual dues are $85 per Scout.


September (USS Lexington) Campout Surcharge

Scouts that attended the USS Lexington campout should have received an invoice from Vijay showing a $35 surcharge per Scout to cover the difference in cost between our normal campout cost of $15 and the cost for the Stay Aboard program on the USS Lexington which is $50. In addition all adults attending the USS Lexington campout will be required to pay the full $50 cost of the program and should have received an invoice from Vijay for this amount.


November Campout Surcharge

The November campout will be to El Rancho Cima which is always a very popular campout. Mr. Schultz will be leading the campout and is currently reserving the rifle range and looking into horeseback riding as an activity. This campout will cost more than our typical $15 / campout. Once the reservations are final and the Scouts have signed up for the activities they want you will receive an invoice for the Surcharge difference between the cost of the activities and the normal $15 campout fee.

If you need to discuss a payment plan for any of the fees, dues, or surcharges please see our Treasurer Vijay Koka at a Troop meeting to make arrangements. If you have questions about these charges or any other troop charges on your invoice please see Vijay at the next Troop meeting.


October Campout is Webelos Woods at Camp Brosig. Carlos de Carlos and Brett Schimanski are the co-leaders.

November Campout is to El Rancho Cima in the Texas Hill Country. Mike Schultz is the campout leader.

December Campout is to Brazos Bend SP with cycling being the primary activity. Jeff Blanchard is the campout leader.

Winter Camp is still finalizing dates and location but looks to be Lost Pines Scout Reservation near Bastrop from Dec 26 – 31, 2014. Ron Hood is the leader.

January Campout is to Goose Island SP with Brett Schimanski and John Shoemaker the co-leaders.

February Campout is a backpacking trip to Colorado Bend SP. Mike Schultz and Michael Nguyen are the co-leaders.

March Campout is Thunderwolf district Camp-o-ree at Camp Brosig. Mike Schultz is the leader.

April Campout is a canoeing trip to Village Creek SP. A leader is still needed.

May Campout is to Hamilton Pool near Austin and camping at Pedernales Falls SP. A leader is still needed.

Summer Camp location and dates are still being investigated. Robert Steffen is the campout leader.

High Adventure Campout to the The Summit Bechtel Reserve in June of 2015 has been reserved and deposits are due. Mike Schultz is the leader.

High Adventure Campout to Philmont Scout Ranch in June of 2016. List of interested participants has been prepared. We will enter the lottery in November for two troop crews and if selected will proceed with registration and payment of deposit.


Popcorn sales are underway. Great fundraising opportunity to raise funds for all the campouts and high adventure trips listed above. Contact Jim Jarecki for more information.

Garage Sale is scheduled for Sat, November 8th at Colony Creek Community Church. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. Please see adult duty roster sign-up genius on the troop web site to sign-up and help.

Kroger Community Rewards program is a benefit to the troop for all families that have tied their Kroger rewards card to the troop account. 1% of the amount spent by each family is donated to the troop. Please register your card with the troop and consider shopping at Kroger to support the troop.
